The Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 126600, widely recognised as the “Big Red”, is a distinctive professional diving watch that combines Rolex’s robust Oystersteel construction with an instantly recognisable black dial and signature red Sea-Dweller lettering. This 43mm example is crafted from highly corrosion-resistant Oystersteel and features an intense black dial with large Chromalight hour markers and hands, complemented by a black Cerachrom unidirectional bezel with a 60-minute graduation. The striking red Sea-Dweller name pays homage to the original model introduced in 1967, giving the modern 126600 its distinctive character.
Powered by the Rolex Calibre 3235 automatic movement, the Sea-Dweller provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. The watch features central hours, minutes and seconds, together with an instantaneous date display beneath Rolex’s Cyclops lens. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the screw-down Triplock winding crown, screw-down caseback and helium escape valve contribute to an exceptional water resistance of 1,220 metres / 4,000 feet. The Oyster bracelet is fitted with an Oysterlock safety clasp and Rolex Glidelock extension system, allowing fine adjustment without tools.
The Rolex Sea-Dweller 126600 “Big Red” is an impressive modern professional Rolex, combining substantial 43mm proportions with exceptional underwater capability and the unmistakable character of the Sea-Dweller collection. This Box & Papers example presents an excellent opportunity to acquire one of Rolex’s most capable contemporary dive watches. Available from Tempus Lord in Hatton Garden, London, every watch is carefully authenticated, thoroughly inspected and professionally presented before being offered to our clients.
